Nystagmus refers to the involuntary movement of both eyes, manifested as the shaking or jumping of the eyeball. In canine animals, this condition also has multiple subtypes, including congenital nystagmus (also known as Infantile Nystagmus Syndrome, INS), hidden or dominant nystagmus with strabismus (now known as Fusional Maldevelopment Nystagmus Syndrome, FMNS), acquired nystagmus (AN), and special types of nystagmus such as Spasmus Nutans.
